| Prof. Aliza Shenhar - Biographical Highlights |
Prof. Shenhar became president of Emek Yezreel College in 1997. Her academic credentials are impressive. Her relationship with the University of Haifa spans over 25 years in which she began as an assistant professor and ultimately became the first woman Provost of the University. Prof. Shenhar was Chairperson of the National Commission on Jewish Education and is the author of numerous books on the field of education. She also has been a visiting professor at the University of California at Los Angeles, in the United States.
She served as the Israeli Ambassador to the Russian Federation from 1994 to 1997. Her Offices, Activities Inside and Outside the University are extraordinary. Dr. Shenhar is a noted lecturer and is author of 10 books.
Prof. Shenhar is a graduate of The Hebrew University, Jerusalem, where she earned a B.A, Hebrew Literature & Language, an M.A. Hebrew Literature and a Ph.D.
Her academic honors include: Honorary Doctorate by Jewish Theological Seminary, New York; Honorary Doctorate by the University of Hartford and the Presidential Medal by the Central Connecticut State University.
