About the Department
We are the largest department of our kind in Northern Israel. Our accomplished faculty provide a combination of management training with analytical tools and academic preparation in the field of economics.
Three specialized tracks – accounting, management and finance, and management and marketing – and a wide array of course offerings are available through our department, covering diverse topics such as global economy, inequality, environmental and energy economics, and international marketing.
Program professors work in collaboration with researchers from other departments in the college, as well as with researchers from other academic institutions in Israel and abroad. In addition to gaining a solid theoretical foundation, students have the opportunity to gain practical experience that gives them a competitive edge in the job market after graduation.
Students who complete the program earn a B.A. in Economics and Management.
YVC and its Department of Economics and Management invest significant energy and resources in establishing and maintaining ongoing academic dialogues with colleagues outside of Israel. These academic interactions keep professors and students abreast of new developments, expand their horizons of inquiry and encourage collaborative research and applied projects.
In addition to engaging in dozens of ongoing collaborations in the United States and Europe, YVC is a partner in the IRIS project, a European Union initiative aimed at fostering stronger ties between Israeli academic colleges and European academic institutions.

Our professional trading room simulates the environment at banks and investment companies. Here, students deal with real data from stock exchanges and foreign currency markets, study and analyze investment opportunities in Israel and abroad, and practically manage an investment fund on their own. This experience is critical for working in today’s environment of global economics and finance.
