Goren School of Visual Arts

About the Department

Our unique undergraduate department partners with the college’s Communication Department track in order to prepare students with both a solid academic grounding as well as practical applied studies in graphic design.

Students gain academic tools and knowledge in communication studies, social studies, philosophy and behavioral studies. Students also receive training and knowledge in the fields of graphic and visual communication design, including branding and image-making; typography; new media, animation and interactive design; stills and studio photography; and illustration.

Through a combination of courses and training workshops, we encourage students to develop tools of innovation and boldness by enhancing their creativity and knowledge base, developing their conceptual thinking and bolstering their enthusiasm, and most importantly, by strengthening their passion for design.

Students earn a B.A. in Communication Studies as well as a Graphic Designer Diploma from the Goren School of Visual Arts.

International Collaboration

YVC and the Goren School of Visual Arts invest significant energy and resources in establishing and maintaining ongoing academic dialogues with colleagues outside of Israel. These academic interactions keep professors and students abreast of new developments, expand their horizons of inquiry, and encourage collaborative research and applied projects.

In addition to engaging in dozens of ongoing collaborations in the United States and Europe, YVC is a partner in the IRIS project, a European Union initiative aimed at fostering stronger ties between Israeli academic colleges and European academic institutions.
