ACADEMY SARA VAN DAM PROJECT GRANTS
The Academy Fund for Behavioural Research makes the Sara van Dam Project Grants available for research projects concerning the development of children growing up in the Netherlands or in Israel.
Researchers who obtained their PhD no more than ten years previously are welcome to apply. The project is a collaboration with a researcher working at a research institute in Israel.
Mr Jacob van Dam (1934-2013) bequeathed his estate to the Academy, which established the Sara van Dam z.l. Foundation in accordance with his wishes.
What does the Fund cover?
A researcher may apply for a grant of between € 20,000 and € 100,000 for a research project that will take a maximum of two years to complete.
For the current round a maximum amount of € 225.000 is available.
Research on the development of children growing up in the Netherlands or in Israel. Examples include research on attachment issues, how children deal with trauma related to or caused by violence, the effects of child abuse, interpersonal relationships, and cognitive development. Preference will be given to behavioural research with a neurobiological component.
Who is it for?
Eligible applicants are researchers who obtained their PhD no more than ten years previously (an extension regulation is applicable – PDF) and who have an appointment at a scientific institution in the Netherlands. The applicant will collaborate with a researcher who works at a scientific institution in Israel and obtained her or his PhD no more than ten years previously.
